Acer had your hopes/dreams/wishes in mind when they did that! I'd like a little bump to this thread. When I get this new pc, if I create the recovery discs before formatting, will they have all the drivers I will need? I'm retired now and purchased the same computer u have for school. Source

Neither one of those would install, though I did try to right click on the .inf file and tray to install it that way. You can use Acer eRecovery Management to back up the entire system and create a bootable CD/DVD. The lan_nvidia would not install because it is supposedly for 32-bit. Due to architectural changes to Windows Vista, some Acer applications are not supported anymore.

I've actually never used recovery discs so I'm uncertain if it's possible to "recover" after a format. My only complaint is that the processors are being recognized as a single 32-bit @ 2.4 Ghz rather than a 64-bit 2x32 @ 1.2 Ghz per. How am I to get the Ethernet Controller driver of the 32 bit system to run on the 64 bit vista? We suggest you use the bundled PowerDVD program to play DVDs.

I've never used Vista before (and I'm hating every moment of it) but I remember that the XP drivers were .exes and applied themselves easily.As for the drivers under device manager
